Eintracht Frankfurt complete deal for AC Milan winger Jens Petter Hauge on loan with an obligation to buy.
The German club announced on Tuesday that the 21-year-old will join on a temporary basis. However, the deal could be made permanent at the end of the 2021/22 season. Milan released a statement saying the loan transfer included “an obligation for a definitive purchase upon the occurrence of certain conditions”.
What can Frankfurt expect from Hauge, who use to play as a winger for Milan?
Hauge had six goal involvements in 24 outings for Milan. He scored three and assisted one in five UEFA Europa League appearances. His two Seria A goals came from the bench against Napoli and Sampdoria. He joined the Italian side from Bodo/Glimt in October 2020. Frankfurt Sporting CEO Markus Krosche said
“Jens Petter is obviously an incredibly versatile player in the final third, he can play on either wing and behind the main striker or he can play in a two up front. He’s incredibly pacy and always a goal threat”.
Hauge draws a comparison with Tottenham star Heung-Min Son. Both are speedy, right-footed wingers like to cut in from the left-hand side and drive at defenders. The wide man was named the official Player of the Season when he won the Eliteserien with Bodo/Glim. He is also the only player born after 1996 to have scored at least 20 goals in Norway’s top division (22 goals in 77 appearances).
Hauge could potentially come up against Norway international teammate and friend Erling Halaand as Frankfurt kick off their league campaign away to Dortmund on Saturday.
